Fatal Auto Accidents in North Carolina
Fatal car accidents are reported far too often in our state. Unfortunately, this does nothing to prepare families for the overwhelming impact that a fatal collision can have on their lives. The sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one is by far one of the most difficult things that a person will ever have to deal with in their life.
Unfortunately, we see a significant number of fatal accidents take place as a result of driver negligence. Some of the leading factors in fatal collisions include:
Impaired driving: far too often, drivers get behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Even though this is extremely illegal and reckless, drivers continue to do so. Drunk driving has a devastating impact on a driver’s judgment and their ability to control their vehicle. As a result, they are likely to crash into others nearby.
Reckless driving: engaging in reckless driving actions can increase the chances of an accident occurring. Far too often, we see accidents take place as a result of drivers who are zipping between lanes, tailgating, and engaging in aggressive driving behaviors.
Weather conditions: inclement weather conditions can have a devastating impact on the driver’s ability to maintain control of their vehicle. We see many accidents take place as a result of heavy rain, thick fog, and other inclement weather.
Unfortunately, the loss of a loved one can have far-reaching consequences on families. In addition to dealing with overwhelming mental and emotional pain and suffering, families are often forced to deal with significant financial burdens. To help alleviate some of the stress that they face during this time, families have the opportunity to file a wrongful death claim to seek compensation for medical costs, funeral costs, and more. To ensure your family has the best chance of getting justice, it is crucial to seek legal representation from a wrongful death lawyer right away.
