Weaverville, NC (January 15, 2024) – A will worker lost their life as a result of an accident that occurred in Buncombe County on Saturday, January 13. The incident occurred at approximately 6:35 p.m.
The Weaverville Police Department reported that a worker was involved in a traumatic injury accident at ZIPS Car Wash, which is located at 1 Gill Road in Weaverville. The worker was severely injured after being trapped inside of the equipment. Despite medical efforts, the victim was fatally injured and pronounced deceased by authorities. Authorities identified the victim as 26-year-old Carolina Franks. At this time, the North Carolina Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) is investigating.
