Winston-Salem, NC (December 19, 2023) – The Winston-Salem Police Department confirmed that a woman lost her life as a result of a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday evening, December 17. At approximately 10:00 p.m., the North Carolina Highway Patrol and police were called to the scene of a crash that occurred on US Highway 52.
According to official reports, a woman was riding in a car occupied by three additional people when he became involved in a collision on the highway with a Winston-Salem Police Department patrol vehicle. The woman was fatally injured as a result of the accident. She was identified as a 40-year-old woman from the Mount Airy area. The officer and an unknown number of people were treated for injuries. At this time, the Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating.
