Fatal Car Accidents in South Carolina
The loss of a loved one can be incredibly challenging to deal with. Unfortunately, countless people lose their lives due to fatal accidents in our state every year. In fact, motor vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of accidental death statewide. After experiencing the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one, your family can seek financial compensation for some of the damages and losses that you face. Some of the damages you have a legal right to seek compensation for include:
- Pain and suffering: Your family has the opportunity to seek compensation for any pain and suffering that your loved one endured prior to their passing. In addition, you can see compensation for the pain and suffering that your family has been forced to endure due to the unexpected loss.
- Loss of consortium: Experiencing the loss of a loved one can have an overwhelming impact on your familial relations. For this reason, the courts enable bereaved families to seek compensation for the loss of parental guidance, loss of companionship, loss of compassion, and the loss of other forms of consortium.
- Property damage: You have a legal right to seek compensation for any property damages resulting from the accident. This could be money that you could use to repair or replace the damaged vehicle.
Filing a wrongful death claim can help your family achieve compensation for these and other damages you face.
