Baldwin County, GA (October 24, 2023) – the Georgia Highway Patrol confirmed on Sunday, October 22, that a Wilkinson County Middle School social studies teacher lost her life as a result of a fatal accident that occurred in Baldwin County.
According to official reports, a collision occurred on US Highway 441 near Georgia State Route 530.
One of the vehicles involved in the accident overturned multiple times before coming to a stop.
The driver and passenger in the vehicle were both ejected. The two victims were transported to Atrium Health Navicent for emergency medical care.
Authorities confirm that one of the victims, identified as Tinetta Smith, passed away from her injuries after arriving.
The second person involved in the accident, identified as a high school basketball coach, Xavier Whipple, was seriously injured.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
