Columbia, SC (January 25, 2024) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed that 18-year-old Amaya Monae Johnson of Council, North Carolina, lost her life as a result of an automobile accident that took place on Thursday evening.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., a Honda Accord was involved in a collision with a log truck on North Carolina Highway 211. The incident prompted authorities to close off the westbound side of the roadway as they worked to remove the involved vehicles. Johnson and a 10-month-old baby were both fatally injured as a result of the crash. The two victims were pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
