Seneca, SC (February 4, 2024) – Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis confirmed that Laura Ross Hunkele lost her life following a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Bilo Place on Wednesday afternoon, January 31.
At around 12:30 p.m., authorities were summoned to the scene of an automobile accident that took place near the Food Lion grocery store. Authorities confirmed that Hunkele was walking from the store in a parking lot when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash. Hunkele was severely injured in the crash. She was subsequently pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
