Aiken, SC (November 5, 2023) – A woman lost her life as a result of a pedestrian accident reported in Aiken on Friday evening, November 3.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene of the crash at around 715 p.m.

Preliminary crash reports indicate that a 2004 Toyota Sienna was heading southbound on US Highway 1, Columbia Highway North. For reasons unknown, the vehicle struck a pedestrian near East Frontage Road.

The pedestrian, identified as 60-year-old Jacqueline Parker, was rushed to Aiken Regional Medical Centers for emergency care. The Aiken County coroner’s office confirmed that she passed away from her injuries.

The accident is being investigated.
