Fatal Car Accidents in North Carolina
Fatal collisions are often devastating. These crashes take the lives of tens of thousands of people in the United States every year. After losing a loved one in a fatal crash, your family has the ability to initiate a wrongful death claim against the responsible party. This type of legal claim can help you get financial compensation for some of the damages you face. This can include:
- Funeral Costs: Many families do not have the financial resources needed to pay their final respects to their loved ones. For this reason, wrongful death claims enable families to recover the financial resources that they need for funeral costs and burial expenses.
- Lost Wages: The loss of a loved one can bring overwhelming financial burdens. In many cases, families are deprived of a source of income that they depend on. For this reason, state courts enable families to recover the compensation they need to alleviate the impact of lost wages and lost earning capacity.
- Loss of Consortium: The impact of a fatal accident can be far-reaching. For this reason, our state allows families to recover compensation for the loss of companionship, loss of guidance, loss of affection, and loss of parental guidance that they face.
It is in your best interest to hire a wrongful death lawyer as soon as possible to protect your rights. An attorney will be able to help you maximize the compensation you are able to recover.
