Asheville, NC (November 23, 2023) – A pedestrian accident reported in the Asheville area on Tuesday morning claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred just before 5:00 a.m. on November 21.
According to official reports from the Asheville Police Department, a pedestrian, identified as Ronald William Jenkins, was walking in the area of Interstate 240 West and the interchange for Haywood Road when he was struck by a vehicle.
Jenkins was severely hurt as a result of the motor vehicle crash. Authorities arrived at the scene and pronounced him deceased from his injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
