Augusta, GA (April 5, 2024) – A pedestrian accident reported on Wednesday evening in the Augusta area claimed one person’s life. The police and firefighters were called to the site of the accident during the evening hours on April 3.
According to law enforcement reports, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while walking near the 2100 block of Gordon Highway late in the evening. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately shut down a portion of the roadway. The victim, who was later identified as 30-year-old Filadelfo Raul Chiquin-Jalal, was pronounced deceased as a result of their injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the police.
