Augusta, GA – RCSO Confirms One Fatality in Tobacco Rd Crash

Augusta, GA (March 22, 2024) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene of a fatal accident that claimed one person’s life on Thursday morning, March 21.

Official reports indicate that a motor vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Tobacco Road and Woodcock Drive during the morning hours. Authorities responded to the scene and immediately shut down the roadway. Firefighters and the Sheriff’s office worked to remove the involved vehicles from the road. One person involved in the accident, identified as 64-year-old Charles Bickley, sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
