Berkeley Co., SC (March 11, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Berkeley County and claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred at approximately 610 p.m. on March 10.
According to reports provided by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2024 Mitsubishi SUV and a 2014 Kia sedan collided head-on on the southbound side of Highway 17A near Diamondback Lane. Both of the involved vehicles sustained moderate damage in the accident. The driver of the Kia, who has not been identified to the public, was pronounced deceased by the Berkeley County coroner’s office. The driver of the Mitsubishi was injured in the crash and transported to Trident Medical Center for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
