Fatal Truck Accidents in Georgia
Hundreds of fatal automobile accidents are reported in Georgia every year. Unfortunately, we see a significant number of accidents take place as a result of preventable actions. Negligent and careless drivers continue to contribute to the majority of these collisions. Some of the most common factors include:
- Excessive Speed: Speeding ranks as one of the most common contributing factors in George’s motor vehicle accidents. Drivers who exceed safe speeds for road conditions, weather, or unfamiliar roadways increase the likelihood of losing control of their vehicles and colliding with others.
- Disobeying Traffic Signals: Approaching intersections requires drivers to adhere to traffic signals, particularly by stopping at red lights and stop signs. Regrettably, running red lights constitutes a leading cause of accidents at busy intersections throughout our state. Given that approximately 20 percent of all accidents statewide occur at intersections, it is evident that this behavior contributes significantly to these incidents.
- Failure to Yield: When drivers merge into lanes already occupied by other vehicles, it can have devastating consequences. Unfortunately, when drivers neglect to yield to other motors, they can cause severe accidents that result in harm to innocent individuals.
