Charlotte, NC – Two HS Students Killed in Crash on Old Pineville Rd

Charlotte, NC (March 11, 2024) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed that two people died as a result of a fatal accident that occurred on Friday morning, March 8. The accident occurred at the intersection of old Pineville Road and Tyvola Road.

According to official reports, at approximately 7:00 a.m., an automobile accident involving an unknown number of vehicles was reported at the intersection. The police and firefighters responded to the scene and immediately shut down the road. At least one of the vehicles involved in the accident caught on fire. Two people involved in the accident, who were both identified as students at the South Mecklenburg High School, were both pronounced deceased as a result of their injuries. One additional victim was injured and transported to an area hospital for further medical care. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department is currently investigating.
