Darlington Co., SC (March 16, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Darlington County on Thursday evening claimed the life of a pedestrian. The South Carolina Highway Patrol out of Darlington County was called to the scene of the accident at around 8:15 p.m. on March 14.
Preliminary reports show that a pedestrian was walking along Highway 434 when they were struck by a 2019 Ford, which was traveling eastbound on the roadway. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and closed off the highway near Rogers Road. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The victim was pronounced deceased by authorities. No other injuries were reported in the crash. At this time, investigations into the accident are underway.
