Garner, NC (May 28, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported on Monday in Garner claimed the lives of two victims. The incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. on May 27, prompting the response of the Garner Police Department and firefighters.

Official reports indicate that a total of three vehicles collided on US Business Highway 70. Authorities arrived at the scene and located a black Cadillac Escalade, a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer, and a dark blue Mazda CX5 Select blocking the road near New Rand Road. Emergency crews immediately shut down the intersection.

Two people involved in the accident, identified as 29-year-old Susan Campbell and 28-year-old Tyler Campbell, were pronounced deceased as a result of their injuries while at the scene. One passenger, identified as a male child, was transported to an area hospital for emergency care. The driver of the Trailblazer, 25-year-old Jordan Alexander Porter, was also transported to an area hospital for medical care. Police subsequently charged Porter with driving while impaired. At this time, further charges are pending.
