Greensboro, NC (February 21, 2024) – One person lost their life as a result of a fatal collision that occurred in the Greensboro area on Saturday morning, February 17. Calls for help came in at approximately 2:50 a.m.
Investigative reports show that a collision occurred on the southbound side of South Elm-Eugene Street. One of the involved vehicles, a 2016 Hyundai Sonata, went off the roadway near Montcastle Drive and struck a tree head-on. The impact of the crash caused the car to catch on fire. One person inside the vehicle sustained fatal injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased by authorities. The incident is currently being investigated.
