Marion, SC (January 15, 2024) – A pedestrian accident reported in Marion County on Saturday morning claimed one person’s life. The South Carolina Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at around 4:00 a.m. on January 13.
According to official reports, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Highway 76 during the early morning hours. Authorities confirmed that a pickup truck was traveling west on the highway when it struck a pedestrian near Hassie Road. The pedestrian was severely hurt in the crash. Despite medical efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement.
