Mitchell Co., GA (June 2, 2024) – A fatal accident reported in Mitchell County on Friday morning claimed the lives of two people. The accident was reported to law enforcement at around 5:40 a.m. on May 31.
Official reports indicate that a collision involving a Ford Edge and a Ford F150 pickup truck occurred on Branchville Road. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway. Both vehicles sustained moderate front-end damage. The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced deceased at the scene. One of the victims was later identified as 58-year-old Charles Bailey. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Specialized Collision and Reconstruction Team (SCRT).
