North Charleston, SC (March 5, 2024) – The North Charleston Police Department is currently investigating a fatal accident that claimed one person’s life on Sunday evening, March 3. The police, firefighters, and emergency medical services were all called to the scene of the accident at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Preliminary crash reports indicate that a pedestrian was crossing the roadway in the 6500 block of Dorchester Road when they were struck by an SUV. The pedestrian was severely hurt in the crash. Despite medical efforts rendered to the victim, the pedestrian ended up passing away while at the scene. The Charleston County coroner’s office pronounced the victim deceased. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
