Oconee Co., SC (January 4, 2024) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that the driver of the bulkhead lost his life as a result of a car crash that took place in Oconee County on Tuesday, January 2. The Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at around 6:00 p.m.
According to official reports, a moped and a second vehicle collided on US Highway 123. The incident prompted authorities to close down the roadway. Further investigations indicate that a 2018 moped was struck from behind by a 2015 Kia sedan near Burton Road. The moped driver, identified as 47-year-old Richard Bryan White, suffered severe blunt-force head injuries as a result of the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the crash is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
