Raleigh, NC (December 18, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Raleigh area on Saturday evening claimed one man’s life while leaving a child injured. Just before 7:45 p.m. on December 16, officers with the Raleigh Police Department were called to the scene of an accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
RPD reports indicate that a white pickup truck was involved in a collision on the roadway near Payton Street. The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to overturn. The driver of the truck, 57-year-old Donald Lawrence Morgan, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A child involved in the accident was injured and transported to an area hospital for emergency care. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
