Richland Co., SC – Three Killed in I-20 Truck Crash ID’d by RCCO

Richland Co., SC (April 16, 2024) – The Richland County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the three victims killed in the Richland County truck accident early Saturday morning, April 13. The accident was reported to the South Carolina Highway Patrol at around 2:10 a.m.

According to official reports, a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on Interstate 20. For reasons unknown, it crashed into the back of a 2016 Kia Forte near mile marker 76. The incident left the Kia with severe damage. The driver and passengers in the Kia all sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The victims were identified as 24-year-old Zhyon Burgess, 25-year-old Shyheim White, and 28-year-old Danesha Walker. At this time, investigations into the accident are underway by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
