Tift Co., GA (February 15, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Tifton on Monday afternoon claimed one person’s life. The Georgia State Patrol troopers were called to the scene of the crash at approximately 12:00 p.m. on February 12.
According to official reports, a 2019 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling on Interstate 75 North when it collided with a bobtail rig on the highway near mile marker 55. The impact of the crash caused the truck to catch on fire, blocking multiple lanes of the road near Omega Eldorado Road. Two people in the truck, identified as 61-year-old Sandra Winn and 61-year-old Frederick Winn, were removed from the vehicle by first responders. Frederick Winn was pronounced deceased on site as a result of his injuries. Sandra Winn was transported to Tift Regional Hospital by EMS, where she underwent emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
