Toombs Co., GA (April 20, 2024) – Several people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a fatal accident that claimed the lives of two people on Friday morning, April 19. The Toombs County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the accident at around 9:00 a.m.
Official reports indicate that a Ford pickup truck was traveling on Highway 130 East when it collided with a Chevrolet car at the intersection of Old Normantown Road. The passengers in the truck, identified as a 17-year-old female and a 17-year-old male, were both fatally injured. The two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. Five additional victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency treatment. One of the victims was identified as 45-year-old Robert Yepe. The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 40-year-old Freddie Juarez. At this time, investigations into the accident are underway.
