Fatal Car Accidents in North Carolina
In the United States, more than 40,000 people died as a result of automobile accidents in 2022. The unfortunate truth is that we continue to see innocent people lose their lives regardless of how many laws we have in place to protect motorists.
Far too often, fatal collisions are caused by negligent and reckless drivers. There are several factors that continue to contribute to the high rate of collisions reported in our state.
Drivers who are drunk are at an increased risk of losing control of their vehicle and crashing into others. Unfortunately, we also see many accidents take place as a result of drivers who are impaired by drugs. Impairment can affect a driver’s coordination in their ability to make responsible decisions. These can have devastating consequences for other drivers nearby.
Speeding is another common cause of fatal auto collisions. When drivers are traveling too fast, they are likely to lose control of their vehicles and strike others.
