Winston-Salem, NC (March 19, 2024) – The Winston-Salem Police Department confirmed that 28-year-old Hector Virgen lost his life as a result of a motorcycle accident that occurred over the weekend. The incident was reported to law enforcement at around 8:45 p.m. on March 16.
According to official reports, a motorcycle was heading southbound on Interstate 285. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with a Dodge van near mile marker 101. The motorcycle then collided with a Hyundai sedan before going off the roadway. The motorcyclist, identified as Virgen, was ejected from his vehicle. He was severely injured in the crash and pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident is currently being investigated.
