Aiken, SC (December 21, 2023) – A pedestrian lost their life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred in Orangeburg County. At around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, the South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an automobile accident on US Highway 601.
According to local law enforcement, a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling southbound on the roadway when they struck a pedestrian in the area near St. Matthews Road. The pedestrian was severely hurt in the crash. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where they passed away from their injuries. The driver was not injured in the accident. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
