Alamance Co., NC (January 31, 2024) – The North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Alamance County that claimed one person’s life. The incident occurred on January 29. According to official reports, an SUV was traveling south on Highway 87 when it collided head-on with a pickup truck.
The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were both seriously injured. The two victims were transported to the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill for emergency treatment. One person involved in the accident, identified as 68-year-old Sheila Ranay Steele, sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased while at the scene. At this time, the North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
