Charleston Co., SC (April 30, 2024) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s office confirmed that one pedestrian died as a result of a fatal accident that occurred on Sunday evening in the Adams Run community. The incident was reported to officials at around 11:30 p.m. on April 27.
According to law enforcement, a pedestrian was walking on Highway 174 between the intersections of Savanna Highway and Old Jackson Borough Road. For reasons unknown, they were struck by a train at a nearby railroad crossing. The pedestrian was fatally injured in the accident and immediately pronounced deceased. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
