Charlotte, NC – One Killed, Three Hurt in Statesville Ave Crash

Charlotte, NC (March 9, 2024) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed that one person lost their life as a result of a fatal collision that occurred on Thursday evening, March 7.

According to official reports, 27-year-old Jordan Devont Mitchell was making a left turn at a red light at the intersection of Statesville Avenue and Atando Avenue when his Dodge Charger collided with a Ford Crown Victoria. The driver of the Ford, 43-year-old Stephen Eric Bowman, sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three victims were injured in the accident. The victims were identified as 21-year-old Ya’Aunna Broome, 29-year-old Nicholas Vincent Trapni, and Mitchell. All three victims were transported to Novant Presbyterian Medical Center for emergency care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
