DeKalb Co., GA (January 5, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in DeKalb County on Friday evening claimed one person’s life. At around 11:55 p.m. on January 5, emergency officials were called to provide assistance at the scene of a major crash that occurred on Interstate 20.
Crash investigations show that two cars collided on the roadway near Lithonia Industrial Boulevard. Both of the vehicles were severely damaged and blocked multiple lanes of the road. Multiple people were injured as a result of the accident. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to transport several victims to area hospitals for emergency treatment. One person was fatally injured and pronounced deceased on site. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
