Dillon, SC (November 11, 2023) – Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley has released the identification of the two people who lost their lives as a result of the motor vehicle accident in Dillon County on Thursday evening.
According to official reports, a collision between a 2010 Pontiac sedan and a 2023 Dodge pickup truck occurred on East Country Club Road near Highway 301. The accident left the two vehicles with damage, requiring them to be towed from the scene.
Three people were in the sedan during the crash. Two of the victims were airlifted to Mcleod Hospital in Florence for emergency care.
The driver of the Dodge was transported to McLeod Hospital by EMS for emergency medical care.
Two people involved in the crash passed away from their injuries. The victims were identified as a 17-year-old juvenile from the Hamer area and 23-year-old Deaundre De’angelo James.
At this time, investigations surrounding the crash are ongoing.
