Elgin, SC (November 28, 2023) – The Kershaw County Coroner’s Office confirmed that one man died as a result of a crash that occurred on Sunday in the Elgin area. The crash was reported on November 26.
According to reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a collision between vehicles occurred on Interstate 20. The crash caused disruptions on the eastbound lanes near Exit 87. Authorities closed off the roadway while assisting. One person involved in the crash, identified as 72-year-old Martin Tokay, was fatally hurt. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
