Gibsonville, NC (April 21, 2024) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed that 79-year-old Randel Dan Clark of Bluff City, Tennessee, died as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday morning. The incident took place at around 11:15 a.m.
Authorities confirmed that Clark was driving a 2018 Chevrolet westbound on Howerton Road. As he proceeded through the intersection of North Carolina Highway 61, his vehicle was struck by a 2009 Chevrolet, which 34-year-old John Tyler Justice was driving northbound. Justice was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. Clark and a front seat passenger in his Chevrolet, identified as 76-year-old Carol Sue Wood of Bristol, Tennessee, were both transported to area hospitals for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that Clark died after arriving. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
