Horry Co., SC (December 24, 2023) – One person lost their life as a result of a fatal truck accident that took place in Horry County on Thursday, December 21, at around 12:10 p.m. The victim was identified as 76-year-old Christine Hardy of Tabor City, South Carolina.
According to official reports, Hardy was driving a 2021 Nissan southbound on Highway 701. At the same time, a 2015 Mitsubishi was also traveling southbound on the same roadway. For unknown reasons, a 2019 Chevrolet box truck struck both of the vehicles head-on near Waccamaw Drive. The incident caused moderate delays in the area near the North Carolina state line.
Hardy suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Mitsubishi and two passengers in Hardee’s vehicle were injured. The three victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
