Lancaster Co., SC (February 3, 2024) – A head-on collision reported in Lancaster County claimed one person’s life on Wednesday morning, January 31. The incident was reported at approximately 10:30 a.m.

According to reports provided by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a head-on collision occurred on Highway 521 near Flat Creek Road. Authorities arrived at the scene and located a Toyota Tacoma and a 1996 Honda Accord with damage. Further reports show that the driver of the Toyota was traveling on the highway when they went off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch. After impact, the Toyota reentered the roadway when it collided head-on with the Accord. The driver of the Accord was fatally injured in the accident and pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
