Moncks Corner, SC (January 30, 2024) – The Berkeley County coroner’s office confirmed that 49-year-old Jun Ji Weng of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, lost her life as a result of an automobile accident that took place over the weekend.
Authorities were called to the scene of the accident on Saturday, July 27. The accident occurred just before 10 p.m. According to authorities, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on North Highway 52. The incident prompted the response of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Berkeley County EMS, and Moncks Corner Fire & Rescue. The South Carolina Highway Patrol also responded. The victim, identified as Weng, was severely hurt in the crash. She was subsequently pronounced deceased as a result of her injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation by law enforcement.
