Olin, NC (February 2, 2024) – A woman from Huntersville lost her life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that took place in North Iredell County on Monday evening, January 28. The accident took place at approximately 8:30 p.m.
According to authorities, a motor vehicle accident between a 2023 Volkswagen Arteon and a 2007 Toyota SUV occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 77. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway near Tomlin Mill Road. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene of the crash to assist.
The driver of the Toyota, 38-year-old Ana Lopez, and her passenger were both transported to Wilkes Medical Center for the treatment of injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen, identified as 65-year-old Stephney Lynn Morris, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. She was pronounced deceased by authorities. The incident is currently under investigation.
