Rocky Mount, NC (January 20, 2024) – The Rocky Mount Police Department confirmed that 60-year-old Barbara Jean Grant and her two-year-old grandchild were both fatally injured as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Tuesday in Rocky Mount. The accident was reported at around 4:00 p.m. on January 16.
According to official reports, Grant and her 2-year-old grandchild were struck by a vehicle on Kingston Avenue during the early evening hours. Grant and the child were both fatally injured in the accident. The victims were pronounced deceased on site. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
