Troup, GA (January 19, 2024) – The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that one person died as a result of a fatal accident that took place in Troup County. Calls for help were received at around 10:20 p.m. on January 16.

Official reports indicate that a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling south on Gabbettville Road when it collided with a Honda Civic. The head-on collision resulted in significant damage to both of the involved vehicles. One person was injured in the accident and rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. One additional person involved in the accident, identified as 47-year-old Latego Anquan Rutledge, was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased on site. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.
