St Helena Island, SC (June 1, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in St. Helena Island claimed the lives of five people, including a 4-year-old child. The collision occurred on Wednesday evening, May 29.
According to official reports, a BMW was traveling southbound on the roadway. As the driver attempted to pass a Toyota pickup truck, which was also traveling south, the BMW collided head-on with a Honda sedan, which was heading northbound. The impact of the crash caused the BMW to overturn and catch fire. The Toyota continued forward and collided with the BMW. A total of five people involved in the accident were fatally injured. All five victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities identified the victims as 46-year-old Mary Seabrook, 26-year-old Raymone Dagin, 31-year-old Tiera Seabrook, 31-year-old Henry Watson, and a four-year-old. At this time, the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
