Troup Co., GA (March 14, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles claimed the lives of two victims while leaving multiple others injured. The Troup County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of the incident just before 9:00 p.m. on March 10.

According to official reports, an automobile accident between a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and a Chevrolet trailblazer occurred on Antioch Road. Two people involved in the accident were fatally injured. The victims were identified as 47-year-old Matalito Bass and 42-year-old Cory Maddox. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. Three additional people were injured in the accident and transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care. The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) and the Troup County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the accident.
